Questions at the fold
Which Shashibo should be my first?
For most people, a classic DODECA in a print you love: 36 magnets, 100+ shapes, nothing to learn first. For small hands or travel pick OCTA; for seasoned puzzlers pick ICOSA XL.
Is a Shashibo okay for a six-year-old?
The maker lists ages 8 and up because strong magnets are sealed inside. Younger kids can fold with an adult beside them; a cracked or damaged cube should be put away.
Do character cubes connect with the classic ones?
They do. Ninja Turtles, SpongeBob, Avatar, Hello Kitty, Pudgy Penguins and Star Trek cubes are DODECA bodies with licensed art, so they fold and snap like any classic print.
What's the difference between a 2-pack, a 4-pack and Battle Shapes?
A 2-pack is two DODECA cubes in contrasting prints; a 4-pack is enough for the big connected sculptures; Battle Shapes adds challenge cards so two players race to fold the shape on the card.
Who makes Mozi, Glozi and SPIN BALLS?
Fun In Motion Toys — the same company behind Shashibo. That's why they share a shelf here.
My cube won't close back into a box. Is it broken?
Almost never. Retrace the last two moves to the crown shape, then fold the open corner shut. If it still resists, the magnets are usually just one piece out of order.
Can I order directly from this site?
