Start from the closed cube, open one corner and let the magnets lead — never force a piece. Our step-by-step first-fold guide covers the crown, the star and the way back to the box.
Every Shashibo — DODECA, OCTA and ICOSA XL — connects with the others through its outer magnets, so this one will join any cube you already own.
Mikey has always been the turtle who just wants to have fun, so it makes sense that his Series 1 Shashibo is pure play. Twist the cube and the Michelangelo artwork splits, flips and regroups as the whole thing reshapes itself. There are more than 100 forms to discover, and 36 ultra-strong magnets keep each section locked in step, so you can fold fast without worrying about pieces wandering off.
This is a nostalgic one for anyone who grew up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and a fresh discovery for younger fans meeting the brothers for the first time. Learning the sequences for favorite shapes builds working memory, and the cube keeps restless hands busy without a sound. Collect the other turtles and connect them all, or hand this one out as a standout party favor.
Michelangelo Series 1 is the original design for the party-loving turtle. Its direct sibling, Series 2 Mikey, puts newer artwork on the same frame at the same price. Against the other Series 1 cubes — Donatello the tinkerer and Raphael the hothead — Mikey is the pure-fun pick. Choose Series 1 if this is the first Mikey in the house, then add Series 2 later for a double build.
Either works — they differ only in artwork. Series 1 is the original Mikey design, Series 2 a fresh take. Start with whichever look you like better and add the other later, since the two connect magnetically.
It is a fine first cube for kids 8 and up meeting the turtles for the first time. Start with the official beginner shapes — Crown, Star, Ball — then explore the rest of the 100+.
Shashibo uses injection-molded plastic, tear-resistant stickers and 36 strong magnets. Still, let the pieces fold through rather than forcing them — if a move resists, back up one step and try again.
