Start from the closed cube, open one corner and let the magnets lead — never force a piece. Our step-by-step first-fold guide covers the crown, the star and the way back to the box.
Every Shashibo — DODECA, OCTA and ICOSA XL — connects with the others through its outer magnets, so this one will join any cube you already own.
Optical Illusion doubles the puzzle. The Original Series artwork is designed to fool the eye, so while your hands work out the next fold, your brain is busy deciding what it is actually looking at. Shapes seem to sink, pop and spin even when they are perfectly still on the desk — a great conversation starter.
The mechanics stay simple: thirty-six ultra strong magnets, more than a hundred shapes, and a cube that always folds back home. That combination makes it a favorite with teenagers and adults who enjoy geometry, and a smart classroom tool for spatial thinking. Pair it with White & Black and the two graphic designs make any build look sharp.
Optical Illusion is the graphic, eye-tricking member of the Original Series. White & Black shares its crisp, high-contrast attitude but stays calm and minimal; Optical Illusion's pattern actively plays with depth, so the surface seems to shift even when the cube is still. Spaced Out, also Original Series, is dreamy rather than geometric. At the same price, this is the pick for geometry fans who want the artwork to be part of the puzzle.

I bought this magnetic puzzle cube as a gift, and the kid was extremely happy with it! It was a fun, unique gift and kept them entertained. The magnetic pieces make it easy to play with and enjoy. Definitely a great choice if you’re looking for a fun gift for a kid!

Just unboxed today, it arrived while my 5 year old was having a meltdown and couldnt be calmed, I started playing with it next to her and in a few minutes she calmed down to ask 'whats that?' She asked to play with it. Now been playing with it for an hour and a half. Found a shape she decided looked like a spaceship, been playing with that ONE shape for the past 20 mins. I liked playing with it, she obviously likes playing with it. The movement is smooth and the clicks are satisfying, its regulating to see the patterns form and feel it shift. It seems high quality, the stickers are very strong, its heavy for its size, its been dropped multiple times already and seems totally fine. Seems too difficult for my 3 year old, or maybe she just needs to get the hang of it, but shes tried to force the stickers the wrong way a few times and it hasnt broken. Really pretty toy, I got the 'Fire Goddess' cube and the designs go well together. Honestly it was worth the $25 just to calm that meltdown and give us a couple hours of peaceful, regulated play. If it can repeat it itll be worth its weight in gold. And Im sure Ill still enjoy shutting my brain down with it sometimes. Do recommend!

Fun, challenging, relaxing. Strong build. I love it and so does my grandson at 4 years old. Appropriate for all ages.
The mechanics are identical to every classic DODECA cube — 36 magnets, 12 pieces. The difference is visual: the pattern makes it trickier to read where one fold ends, so it can feel like a slightly harder puzzle.
Teens and adults who like geometry and pattern, and teachers looking for a spatial-thinking prop. Shapes like the Hive, with its three clustered rhombic blocks, look especially striking with an illusion print.
White & Black from the same Original Series makes a sharp, graphic duo. Since every Shashibo connects through outer magnets, you can stack them into towers or rhombic structures, like the official three- and four-cube builds.
